Bengaluru, 17 March 2024: The Physicians Association for Nutrition India (PAN India) successfully orchestrated its 13th health education seminar, focusing on the pivotal role of Evidence-Based Nutrition Intervention in Clinical Practice. This landmark event unfolded at the prestigious ITC Gardenia on Residency Road, Bengaluru, attracting a distinguished array of medical professionals and experts from across the nation.
Ms. Shruti Sharma, the Program Manager of PAN India, shed light on the significant impact PAN has generated in various states and esteemed institutions such as AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Nagpur, AIIMS Bilaspur, and Government medical colleges in Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Mysuru, Jalgaon, and Bharatpur.
The Continuing Medical Education (CME) event in Bengaluru featured prominent doctors from the city, including Dr. Ganesh (Neurology), Dr. Narasimhaiha (Gastroenterologist), Dr. Naveen Kini (Pediatrician), Dr. Veena Acharya (ObGyn), Dr. Pratima Kini (Pathologist), as well as external experts like Dr. G. Rajendiran (Cardiologist) and Nutritionist Supraja S.
Dr. Rajeena Shahin, the Medical Director of PAN India, stressed the urgent need to shift healthcare focus towards a preventive approach, especially considering India’s staggering burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). She emphasized the necessity of a sustainable healthcare system rooted in science and evidence to effectively combat this challenge.
Renowned Oncologists Surgeon Dr. Narsimhaiah highlighted the profound impact of nutrition on disease causation and treatment, suggesting that the secret to longevity may indeed lie in dietary practices.
Distinguished cardiologist Dr. G. Rajendiran underscored the seminar’s significance in disseminating knowledge on plant-based nutrition to mitigate chronic lifestyle diseases and contribute to environmental conservation efforts.
The consensus among specialists, including Dr. Ganesh, Dr. Kini, Dr. Acharya, and Nutritionist Supraja, reinforced the crucial role of lifestyle modifications and plant-predominant nutrition in improving overall health outcomes.
