
Q. What are your greatest strengths as an actress
My greatest strength as an actor is that I analyze and understand the journey of the character Q. How would you describe your personality as an actress?
I’m very professional on set, I am a director’s actor
Q. What is your favorite role that you have played as an actress?
I played the role of Tamarai in my Tamil movie Weldon. I loved playing that character
Q. Provide an example of a time when you had to overcome a challenge while performing.
For my movie Shishya, I went a shot with a fractured leg also without even a day’s break. In my first movie Love Lavike, I was made to stand on top of a gopuram and dance….these were some of the challenges. But generally, life of an actor is challenging as we play a character so different from us
Q. If you were given the opportunity to star in your dream project, what role would you want to play?
I would definitely like to play the role of Sridevi that she played in Khuda Gawah, Gumrah, Sadma, Chandini
Q. What would you say is your most important role as an actress?
My role is to play any character given to me convincingly so that the audience believes in it
Q. How well do you work in a team environment?
I think I am very friendly and everyone on my sets loves me
Q. What has been your experience working with choreographers?
I have worked with some of the best choreographers in the industry, my first choreographers were Madan-Harini in the industry….later on, I went on to work with legends like Chinni Prakash….I am not a trained dancer, whatever I dance to date is the training of every choreographer that I have worked with. I am grateful to all of them
Q. When performing, do you prefer to improvise or stick to the script?
I am a director’s actor, I will definitely discuss with the director, anything that needs to be performed in front of the camera
Q. We want our actresses to be comfortable in front of the camera. How do you feel about being filmed?
I am told that I come alive in front of the camera. I have been in front of the camera since the age of 16. So I’m definitely very comfortable
Q. Describe your experience with using makeup and other beauty products on set.
There have been a lot of changes that have happened with regard to the technique as well as the use of products when it comes to makeup. I have also done stage, so that’s a different type of makeup as well. Also, the cameras have changed now, so with the HD cameras, every minute detail is captured. And with the edit nowadays, anything can be corrected. So I guess I can comfortably say that I have seen a complete transition in the use of makeup for the last 25 years
Q. What makes you special and stand out from other actresses?
It’s not just me, every actor brings in something unique to the table with their talent. Each one has a different life experience and a unique perspective on things. That way, I think I am different.
