JD Design Awards is a premier platform for aspiring young designers and serves as a stepping stone for their growth, recognition, and their incorporation into the industry. It helps them to gain visibility, advance their skills, and launch their careers. The purpose of the conceptualization of the design body is to encourage experimentation, think beyond the norms, and push the boundaries. By recognizing and rewarding innovative and unique design concepts, the platform seeks to inspire young designers to bring fresh outlook to the industry.
The fashion show of this year’s JD Design Awards was conducted in association with JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru on 30th June 2023. Participating in the event were young fashion designers from JD School of Design and JD Institute of Fashion Technology. The event featured an array of creative concepts centered around various themes, paying tribute to personalities such as architect Zaha Hadid, acid survivors, Rani Laxmi Bai, Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, Harry Potter, Indian Textiles, Naruto, Walt Disney, Princess Diana, BTS, humanity to time, among others.
The prestigious event was graced by special guests Mr. Gaurav Sinha, Hotel Manager – JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru, Mrs. C. Vinod, wife OF Mr. C. Vinod – Director C Krishnaiha Chetty (CKC), Mr. Manish Saksena, Advisor – Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein and Lead Consultant for Aadyam Handwoven an Adity Birla initiative, Mr. Samrat Som, Design and Brand Marketing Professional, Ms. Anushyam Sundar – House of Three, Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Founder – World of Brands, Mr. Lalit Sanghvi, Founder – Limelite and Mr. Ajmal Abdul Kareem, Menswear Designer.
The entire production was flawlessly handled by the expert team at Limelite, ensuring a visually stunning showcase. The choreography of the event was masterfully executed by ace fashion choreographer Mr. Rahul Dev Shetty, bringing the designs to life on the runway with precision and artistic flair. To enhance the overall presentation, the talented makeup artists from Lakme Academy powered by Aptech worked diligently to create glamorous looks for the models, perfectly complementing the designers’ vision and adding an extra touch of elegance to the show.
